Other Consultations
Mental Health Care Plan / Review
A mental health care plan must be booked as a long consultation (20 minutes or more) to ensure there is enough time to fully assess your needs.
It is important that this plan is completed by your usual GP, as they have a better understanding of your medical history and ongoing care. I do not complete care plans for patients I have not seen before.
For a mental health care plan review, a standard consultation is usually sufficient.
However, the review should ideally be done by the GP who created the original plan. In exceptional cases, such as if your GP has left the practice, an alternate GP may conduct the review.
Please note, for the review to be completed, Medicare requires that we receive a letter from your treating psychologist or allied mental health professional updating us on your progress.
Vaccinations / Dressings
Vaccinations and dressings are typically completed during a standard consultation (15 minutes).
However, it’s important to also book a separate appointment with the nurse, as they will administer the vaccination or apply the dressing.
This ensures both the GP and nurse have the time needed to provide you with proper care during your visit.
Driver’s Licence Medicals
A driver's licence medical assessment requires a long consultation (20 minutes or more).
Please ensure you bring all necessary paperwork, including any forms you have been provided, your ID, and ensure that any pre-appointment questionnaires are fully completed before your visit. This will help streamline the process and ensure your medical assessment is completed efficiently.
If you are over 75 years old, your driver’s licence assessment should be arranged as part of a Medicare over 75 Health Assessment. Please discuss this with reception before booking.
For commercial driver's licence assessments, please note that these are not covered by Medicare, and additional fees will apply.
