 FAQs

  • I understand the importance of accessible healthcare, and I strive to balance quality service with fair billing practices. Bulk billing is a process where the Medicare rebate fully covers the costs of a consultation. I do my best to provide bulk billing for as many patients as possible, there are instances where it may not be feasible. Here's why:

    1. Medicare Rebate Coverage:

Each consultation is associated with a Medicare rebate, which assists in offsetting the expenses of the visit. Bulk billing implies that the entire cost of the consultation is covered by this rebate.

    - However, over time, the Medicare rebate has not kept pace with the rising costs associated with delivering comprehensive medical services.

    2. Ensuring Quality Care:

My commitment is to provide personalized and quality healthcare to every patient. Bulk billing everyone could compromise the quality of our services, as the Medicare rebate alone may not cover the full extent of the resources required for optimal care.

    3. Tailored Solutions:

I understand that each patient's situation is unique. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, I encourage you to discuss your circumstances with me before your consultation, not at the end. Requestes to Bulk Bill at the end of a consultation will often be declined.

    4. Supporting Sustainability:

By adopting a balanced approach to billing, I strive to create a sustainable healthcare model, whilst delivering a high level of care to our community in the long term.

  • Care plan reviews play a crucial role in the comprehensive care planning process, ensuring the ongoing well-being of our patients. While I recognize the importance of this service, I’ve chosen not to bulk bill care plan reviews. The inclusion of a small gap fee serves a purpose beyond financial considerations – it encourages patients to pause and reflect on the significance of the consultation. I believe this approach promotes a thoughtful and engaged healthcare experience, fostering a deeper understanding and commitment to the ongoing care and management of your health.
